My internship with AAPT ended more than three weeks ago. Still, I find myself nearly every day using the skills I was learning and applying this summer.
Week 9 was my final week in the AAPT office. I spent the week wrapping up a bunch of smaller projects and parts of projects, including gathering data for the Bootstrap for Physics workshop currently ongoing in New York.
Week 8 of my internship was full of new and interesting places! On Wednesday, all the interns had the chance to visit NASA Goddard and see a lot of cool stuff there.
I am currently in sunny (hot) Sacramento, California! I flew out on Friday and arrived at my hotel in that evening, exhausted but happy to be here. (Why is it that flying is so exhausting?
It has been another exciting week for this SPS intern. On Monday, Rebecca and I went to UMD at Shady Grove to share some of our lesson plans with in-service STEM teachers that are in a Masters course on STEM education.
This week has been quite as packed as the last. On Tuesday, I went to a 100K in 10 Solutions Lab where we discussed how to incorporate the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) into a successful curriculum for STEM teachers.
