My name is Yongtai Li, and I am a physics-major and mathematics-minor student at Westminster College, Salt Lake City, Utah. I am nominated by Tamara Young and Jared Coles from the University of Utah, and I would like to run as a candidate to the position of Associate Zone Councilor (AZC).
I am an international student coming from China. I received my secondary-school education in China, and I am receiving my university education in the United States as a physics-major student. My fields of interest are astrophysics, quantum physics, and optical physics. I plan to go to a graduate school to pursue my academic career in physics after my graduation from this college. I plan to ultimately receive my Degree of Philosophy (Ph.D) in astrophysics and/or quantum physics, and I would like to work as a university professor, in which I can both teach students and conduct researches with students and my peer scholars.
I am currently serving as the president of the Society of Physics Students chapter at Westminster College, with accompany of my faculty adviser, Dr. Julia Kamenetzky. I am working to make more and more physics students get interested to club events and keep our club vigorous on campus.
