Virtual Talks with SPS

We are hosting live video talks through Zoom throughout the coming weeks. If you are unable to make any of the talks, no problem! All talks are recorded and posted to our YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/user/SPSnational).

Tuesday, March 17: Susan White, Interim Director of the Statistical Research Center at AIP.  Talk titled: "You Can't Handle the Truth." 

Tuesday, March 24: Greg Good, Director of the Center for History of Physics. Titled “Space Weather in the Time of Pandemic”.

Wednesday, April 1: Colleen Countryman, Assistant Professor & SPS Zone Councilor at Ithaca College. Talk titled: "The Development and Assessment of Instructional Mobile Apps for Physics Students."

Next Talk

David J. Helfand, Professor of Astronomy at Columbia University and American Institute of Physics Board Chair. Titled "Where Did All That CO2 Come From?"

March Madness - SPS Style

@SPSNational is holding bracket-style competitions for physics topics that you can vote on! Theme's so far have inlcuded “Bad Physics Movies”- movies where the science behind them made you question Hollywood’s understanding - and this week's theme of "Favorite Physics Courses". Ant-Man was voted the winner (or is it loser?) of the "Bad Physics Movie" bracket - make sure to vote for your favorite physics course this week to keep it in the running!

Upcoming themes may include physics memes, Nobel discoveries, and best physics movies. Be sure to vote for your favorite!
