This week has been a chaotic masterpiece. Before I get into that I’d like to say that all of the Interns are getting along very well, and we all have bonded over our experiences while pursuing our degrees.
This week was full of exciting events. I met John Mathers, a Nobel laureate, watched a national baseball game, and saw a screening of the Rocky Horror Picture Show. It was a hectic week at work, and having fun with the other interns.
This week, I continued to summarize bills, wrote my first bulletin draft, and attended ICSSI, or the International Conference on the Science of Science and Innovation.
My second week has come to a close and I am surprised by how many things I got to do this week. To begin with my work at NIST, I spent much of my week doing safety training before I begin in the lab.
From this week, my work started as well as my 6 weeks summer classes, anthropology and psychology. I still need to fulfil some general education requirement, so I decided to take those this summer online.
This week has been a blur for me, but in the best of ways. I feel like I am just getting started, even though we are already 20% of the way through the internship. I have to constantly remind myself to make the most of this fleeting summer.
