Workshop Title: From Researcher to Representative, Learning to Listen to the Community |
Biographical Sketch
Craig Jones has been a critic, advisor and supporter of Fermilab at various times. The retired airline pilot and economist was an organizing member of the Citizens Against the Collider Here group in the late 1980s, a resident group aimed at preventing the construction of the Superconducting Super Collider at Fermilab. In recent years, he served on a community task force to advise Fermilab on how to best foster community participation in laboratory projects. As a member of the International Linear Collider Citizens' Task Force, he helped write a report on the pluses and minuses of building the next-generation particle accelerator at Fermilab from the neighbors' perspective.
