The 2014-15 SOCK celebrates the International Year of Crystallography (2014) and the International Year of Light (2015). Through a variety of activities it brings the concept of Light: A Spectrum of Utility to life. Users explore ways that we use light on a daily basis, and what it can tell us about matter and its structure. Activities range from using a laser to determine the structure of a CD to creating “stained glass” masterpieces through polarization.
