I finally realized last week that this internship is rapidly coming to a close. With only one week (really, three full work days) left, I needed to kick it up a gear and crank out more content for future stories. I have completed the next couple weeks worth of drawings, videos, and text, and would like to round out the month, just incase it takes longer to transition the account over after I leave. That pretty much sums up my week at work.

Outside the office, I had a pretty eventful week. I have been tasked with helping take photos for my school paper’s New Student Guide. On Wednesday I returned to campus with one of my friends to walk around and take photos for the publication. It was a great way to spend the evening after work, as well as get a last glimpse of campus before the craziness of the school year begins.

On Thursday all of the interns headed over to Tracy’s house for dinner. His house is lovely, and we had such a good dinner with the SPS national staff. The purpose of the dinner (other than to enjoy each other’s company) was for SPS to gain insight into our online communications habits. Hopefully they’ll be able to use what we said and turn that into a successful and robust online presence.

I spent the weekend up in New York City, visiting family and friends before they all head back to their various schools for the fall. Being back in New York was a nice change of pace, and it was great catching up with old friends. We watched a bit of the Olympics while hanging out together on Saturday night. The theme of the weekend was definitely food. My friends and I had no other plans set other than to hit the hottest ice cream shops around the city, then go to Smorgasburg on Sunday. Shows where our true priorities are.
