Emily Shepard

Scientific Affairs Manager

Hi, I am Emily Shepard (formerly Ehlerding), and I have my PhD in Medical Physics. During grad school when I was getting my master's and doctorate, I worked in the field of nuclear medicine. That means I took different cancer drugs and attached a radioactive atom to them, so that when we give that radioactive drug to a patient we can see where it goes using a medical imaging scan called a PET scan.

Now, I work for the Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer, as a Scientific Affairs manager. I design the education materials we use to teach doctors how to use this special type of cancer therapy.

I think physics is awesome because it explains EVERYTHING and I hope to be able to help other people realize the same thing.
