Hello, my name is Jaela Whitfield! As of Fall 2021, I am a rising senior Physics major Mathematics minor at Howard University. When it comes to representing Howard I put my best foot forward. If presented with the opportunity, I would treat the Associate Zone Councilor position no different. SPS was one of the first organizations that I joined, I have enjoyed the experience thus far. I’ve been the face of the physics department since 2018 serving as Vice President for SPS school year 2019-2021. Throughout my experience of being apart of the E-Board and attending the SPS conventions in 2019 and 2020, it has allowed me to grow within social networking and as an individual. Furthermore, this position allowed me to cultivate leadership, public speaking skills on behalf of my organization to advocate for resources for the University and other youth. By speaking with and interacting with people within the organization, I have learned a lot and have been more outgoing to assist others, as well as help SPS thrive more than it already is.
