Radiations Magazine
 |
Fall 2009
The cover painting, In Dimension, exemplifies
one of the major Society of Physics
Students (SPS) initiatives, Future Faces of
Physics, both by being a self-portrait of an
aspiring physicist and by addressing the
emerging science of dynamical systems and
fractal dimensions.
In this issue of Radiations, we celebrate
the many dimensions of Sigma Pi Sigma
and its members through stories of their career
paths, philanthropic efforts, and service
to the physics community. The diversity
of our Society is well-represented in the
above painting, an award-winning piece
from the 2008 Sigma Pi Sigma Quadrennial
Congress created by SPS member Jeanette
Powers from Rockhurst University. See
more of the award-winning artwork from
the Congress on page 5.
