What a great way to end my last full week of work. This week was really focused on finalizing my presentation because… well … the end is near. I can’t even remember how many times I have practiced so far and there is still just a little more data analysis to do. I know I have said this every week, but it is really crazy to see how fast this summer flew by. The reality is just continuing to sink in more and more everyday. Soon I will be on a plane and heading back to Texas. I don’t think I am ready to leave my NIST family, but I guess I have to get started on my senior year of college. My research has really been awesome. I can’t believe how much I have learned in such a short amount of time and in this next week I hope to learn a little more, so that my presentation can go smoothly.

Of course I had to take a step away from the hectic-ness this week and enjoy my last week a little bit on the field. Like all the other weeks this week was filled with soccer. I think I played at least 4 times this weekend and hopefully it is setting me up to be successful in my last season of soccer at TLU. Aside from the usual soccer, we also has one final group dinner. Jose just turned 22 and what better way to celebrate than with Italian food. A lot of the interns got together and ventured out of our apartment to have some delicious food. It was a great time.

I think that one of my biggest worries for this upcoming week is not my presentation or having to say goodbye to my friends, but it is the challenge of having to pack my bags next week. This is a legitimate concern because there is no way these bags are going to be under 50lbs. My goal was to not come with more that I brought, but I have to take some things back from my summer home.  DC has been a great experience for me and I am just hoping that all of the presentations will be fantastic next week. Wish me luck!
