This past week was filled with more than a few adventurous days! Last weekend began with an outing to Jazz in the Garden outside of the National Gallery of Art. Mark and I planned on meeting up with several of the other interns, but my plans changed slightly once we arrived.
Monday began rather slowly as I was told by the office to arrive at 10am, I suppose as to avoid the morning rush. I entered into a small foyer, greeted one of my two co-interns, and met with the legislative correspondent (LC) for my intern orientation.
On Monday, I woke up at 6:42, caught the 7:57 Metro train to New Carrolton, transferred to the 8:40 Prince George's County Bus, and arrived at Goddard at 8:58, a commute that had engrained itself in my head like clockwork. Since Dr.
This week we had a few more networking opportunities in house where we connected with people we hadn't met already. It is always good to meet new people and pick their brains about the work they do and what led them down that path.
Remember back in preschool when you had arts and crafts time? Remember how teachers always told you 'NO' when you stuck tape to random objects? This week all those ignored reprimands and my extra tape practice came in handy.
