Biographical Sketch
David Goldston is the Program Director of the Harvard Energy Studies Program. From 2001 through 2006, he was Chief of Staff of the U.S. House Committee on Science. He retired from Capitol Hill after 20 years of working on science and environmental issues at the end of 2006. Since January 2007, he has written the monthly column "Party of One" on science policy for the journal Nature. He has also been a visiting lecturer at Princeton and Harvard. He also serves on policy advisory panels established by the National Academy of Sciences, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, the American Physical Society and other groups. Goldston graduated from Cornell University with a B.A. in history in 1978 and completed the course work for a Ph.D. in American history at the University of Pennsylvania.
