The
Hilton Albuquerque and the Fairfield
Inn Albuquerque are full-service hotels, located
approximately one mile from the University of New Mexico.
The hotels share an indoor/outdoor swimming pool with saunas
and jacuzzi, amenities also include a fitness center, free
cable television and pay-per-view movies, free local phone
calls, and complimentary parking for all registered guests.
The Fairfield Inn Albuquerque also offers complimentary
continental breakfast. The reservation deadline for
the 2004 Congress is October 1, 2004.

Hotel Information
The Hilton and Fairfield Hotels are located on the same campus.
The hotels are about 1.5 miles from the University of New
Mexico. Hotel parking is complementary (fee for valet). See
brochure for more info.
Airport
Transportation
Plan to take a taxi to the hotel. Distance: 5 miles; Travel
time: ~15 minutes; Fare: typical minimum charge is $12.00.
Directions: Travel North on Yale to Gibson, West on Gibson
to University, North on University, approximately 5 miles
to hotels.
Busing
between Hotels and University of New Mexico
Registrants are strongly encouraged to use
the shuttle for transporation to the Congress, APS 4-Corners,
and AAPT meetings. Shuttle buses will run on Friday, October
15th from 10am - 10pm, and on Saturday, October 16th from
7am - 10pm. Board the buses in front of the Hilton Hotel
(the University Blvd. entrance). Note: The Fairfield is
right next door. The

The
Congress begins at 12:15pm on Friday. Lunch is
on your own. You can purchase lunch at the hotel, in the
surrounding area, or in the Student Union (where the Congress
will be held) in the food court. (Companions joining the
Congress for dinner may arrive on later buses). We will
also run buses on Saturday, October 16th. The hotels’
front desks will be made aware of the bus departure schedule.

Weather
Albuquerque in October is remarkable! Weather during the
day is usually sunny, in the low-to-mid 70’s. Temperatures
can dip below freezing in the early morning hours, however.
Dress
Code
As the entire Congress is taking place at the University
of New Mexico; there is no time to change for dinner. Please
come dressed in business-casual clothing (i.e. a level above
jeans, shorts, and t-shirts).
